Creating Articles

Method 1: From Keywords

  1. Go to Keywords section
  2. Find a keyword you want to write about
  3. Click “Create Article”
  4. Moonrank analyzes search intent and competitor content
  5. Review the suggested structure and outline
  6. Customize content as needed
  7. Publish

Method 2: From Scratch

  1. Navigate to Articles → Create New
  2. Choose your content type:
    • Blog post
    • Pillar page
    • Topic cluster
    • Product guide
  3. Enter your keyword or topic
  4. Set your target audience
  5. Specify desired word count (500-5000+ words)
  6. Click “Generate”

Method 3: From File Upload

  1. Go to Articles → Upload
  2. Select a Word Doc, Google Doc, or Markdown file
  3. Moonrank processes your content
  4. You can enhance it with our optimization suggestions
  5. Publish to your site

SEO Checklist

Before publishing, verify:
  • ✅ Meta title (50-60 characters)
  • ✅ Meta description (150-160 characters)
  • ✅ Focus keyword in first 100 words
  • ✅ Internal links (3-5 minimum)
  • ✅ External links (3-5 minimum)
  • ✅ Images with alt text
  • ✅ Proper heading structure (H1 → H2 → H3)

Managing Your Articles

Article Library

Access Articles to view all your content:
  • Search by title or keyword
  • Filter by status (Draft, Published, Scheduled)
  • Sort by creation date, publish date, or traffic
  • Bulk actions for editing multiple articles

Article Status Workflow

Draft - Content is being created, not yet published → Review - Sent for team review → Scheduled - Set to publish at specific time → Published - Live on your website → Archived - No longer active

Updating Articles

  1. Click on any article to open it
  2. Make your changes in the editor
  3. Click “Save” to save as draft
  4. Click “Update” to republish changes
When you update published articles, Moonrank will track if this improves your rankings for the target keyword.

Article Performance

Performance Metrics

Each article shows:
  • Views - Total page views
  • Traffic - Estimated organic traffic from Google
  • Keyword Ranking - Current position for target keyword
  • Backlinks - Number of external links pointing to the article
  • Engagement - Average time on page and bounce rate

Performance Timeline

  • View metrics for the last 7, 30, or 90 days
  • Compare performance across time periods
  • Identify which articles drive the most value

Bulk Operations

Bulk Publish

  1. Select multiple draft articles
  2. Choose publish date (now or scheduled)
  3. Click “Publish Selected”

Bulk Update Keywords

  1. Select articles
  2. Add/change target keywords
  3. Apply changes to all selected

Bulk Archive

  1. Select articles
  2. Click “Archive”
  3. Articles remain in history but don’t appear in main view

Article Templates

Save time by creating article templates:
  1. Write an article with your preferred style
  2. Click “Save as Template”
  3. Replace specific content with variables: , ,
  4. When creating new articles, select your template
  5. Fill in the variables and Moonrank generates unique content
